Frequently Asked Questions

Question

Answer

I am only a beginner. Can I participate in the training sessions?

Yes.  The training sessions are designed to cater for all abilities, from elite runners to run/walkers.

I am an advanced runner. Will I find the sessions challenging?

Yes.  Training sessions are designed to cater for all abilities and are tailored to ensure that all types of runners find the sessions challenging.

Where do we meet?
What time?
 What Days?

Tuesday and Thursdays at The Ship Inn, Southbank starting at 6:00pm.
Saturdays meet at New Farm Park, Rotunda with the run commencing at 7:30am.

How long do the sessions last?

Every session will last 1 hour.

What do I need to bring?

Suitable clothing for running or walking in. I.e. Joggers, shorts, singlet.  It may be cold when you start running so you may want to bring something that can be easily removed and carried with you while you are training. The Saturday sessions can get quite warm, do bring along a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses.

Where can I leave my bag/keys while I am running?

The Ship Inn has kindly offered to watch our gear while we are training.  Keys and other small items can be left in a BRS box which will be watched by the Ship Inn staff. You may leave a bag inside the establishment.  Please try to limit it to one small bag per person as it can result in a very large stack and take up considerable room.  We need to remember it is still an operating business.  On Saturdays, we will again have the BRS box for keys and other small items which will be locked in a car whilst running.

How do I enter the Bridge to Brisbane fun run?

See the Bridge to Brisbane website for more information  www.bridgetobrisbane.com.au

Where can I park for the free sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays?

We would suggest using public transport. There is a major bus terminal at the Cultural Centre, Southbank (at the Southbank end of Victoria Bridge) and easy access to South Bank Railway Station (only 5mins walk) or South Brisbane Railway Station (15min walk).  See www.translink.com.au for more information. If you do drive, there is plenty of parking in the Southbank underground car park – see www.visitsouthbank.com.au/visitor_information/parking for costs. There is limited free street parking on Grey Street and Dock Street.

Where can I park for the free sessions on Saturdays?

There is parking on the circular drive around New Farm Park and surrounding streets. However, the New Farm markets are on every second Saturday (from 12 June) which will limit the parking available.
